It’s been awhile since our last update, but don’t worry we are alive and well… and warm! Today was our third day out of the mountains and on the flat plains of eastern Colorado and (as of 15 miles back) Kansas! We were missing the mountains the moment we left them. From Oregon to most of Colorado our planning has been centered on climbs. (If you’re looking for an alternative mountain destination than Colorado, we found Oregon to be extremely pretty.)
The first half of our trip was also cold. Only for a couple days were we in just shorts and jerseys, but now I can start improving those tan lines for my sister’s wedding. (Don’t worry Abbie, they won’t be nearly as drastic as we were thinking.) It has been so great (for me, Brie) to be in warmer weather. I had no idea I could survive in the outdoors at the temperatures we did. We were below freezing several mornings and in the fifties or under most of the time.
We are in Tribune, KS tonight and felt nostalgic as we passed green fields and tractors.
