Josh and I are in a form of homelessness. For the next three months we belong to the road and are dependent on campgrounds, hotels, or the generosity of others for a place to sleep. Last night we stayed at a church who has been supporting bikers since the ‘70s. They have a shower, full kitchen, washer and dryer just for us to use and a warm floor to sleep on. Last night we shared this mountain church with a homeless man. Josh did great with him, he was kind, courteous, and generous. I found the situation rather uncomfortable, challenging, and humbling. In the morning before our ride to Dayville Community Church Josh and I read 1 John 3; the later section of loving one another came back to me as I fell asleep. This morning I am also thinking of the many times where it is mentioned to take care of the widows, orphans, and aliens in your midst. It's just rather odd to be an alien yourself loving another alien.
